About

Africa is my home. Let me show it to you.

Kelly Irakli is from Greece and has been living in Rwanda since 2020. She plans private trips across Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Zambia, Zanzibar, Namibia, and Greece, for travellers who want a trip built around them rather than pulled from a catalogue.

Why Kigali, and Why Stay

Kelly moved from Greece to Kigali in 2020 and has not left. Rwanda was a deliberate choice: the safety, the cleanliness, the proximity to one of the great wildlife regions in the world. What brought her here is the same thing that keeps her here.

For a client, that means something specific. She is not a remote advisor working from a different continent. She is in the country. She knows when a road is closed for maintenance because she drove it last week. She knows which lodge has changed management because she had dinner with the new general manager. That kind of knowledge does not come from research. It comes from being there.

What She Does

Kelly plans tailor-made safaris, gorilla trekking expeditions, and wildlife trips built away from mass tourism. Every trip she plans starts from a conversation: who is travelling, what they have done before, what they want from the trip, and what they want to avoid.

Every trip is planned with personal attention for travellers who value privacy, comfort, and a real connection with the destination. She personally answers every message and plans every experience herself, around each traveller's preferences. There is no assistant, no template, and nothing pulled from a shelf.

How She Works

Every trip starts with a private advisory call. Not a sales call. She wants to understand who is travelling, what they have done before, what they want from the trip, and (importantly) what they do not want. From that call she sketches a first itinerary, usually within a week, and then the planning is iterative until the trip is locked.

Greek Rwanda Travels is not a tour operator. Kelly does not own vehicles or lodges or take group bookings off a shelf. She is a private advisor. She designs the itinerary, secures the permits, negotiates the lodge rates, and arranges the bookings directly with the operators. You hold the bookings. She handles the planning, the coordination, and the on-the-ground support during the trip. If something goes wrong (a flight cancellation, a sick driver, a lodge that suddenly looks worse than it did six months ago), she fixes it from Kigali while you keep travelling.

Where She Plans

Rwanda is the core. She has been in Volcanoes National Park, Akagera, Nyungwe, and Lake Kivu more times than she can count. Most clients come to her for gorilla trekking and stay for the rest of the country.

Beyond Rwanda she plans private trips across Uganda (Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls), Zanzibar (Stone Town and the north and east coast beaches), Zambia (South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, Victoria Falls), Namibia (Sossusvlei, Etosha, Damaraland, Skeleton Coast), Burundi (Kibira, Lake Tanganyika), and Greece (the Cyclades, Crete, Athens, and the Peloponnese). Same depth, same personal attention.

She also handles corporate planning: conferences and conventions in Kigali with pre and post-conference safaris, leadership offsites, and team retreats built around gorilla trekking or game drives.

I have been living in Africa since 2020. I know these places the way you know your own city. Let me show you what that looks like on an itinerary.
